Sports Retailer partners with SkillNet to launch a new tiered loyalty program nationwide rewarding its customers with access to a premium level of membership

Client
The client is a leading North American omnichannel sports licensed retailer comprised of headwear stores, and ecommerce businesses. The retail businesses make up more than 1,200 mall-based, airport, street level and factory outlet locations nationwide, and in Canada and Puerto Rico.

Engagement

The Sports retailer had an existing loyalty program. They wanted to expand their program to enable more rewards and an elite level of access to exclusive promotions, events, and discounts for their devoted customer base. With the goal of launching a new tiered loyalty program, the retailer selected SkillNet to design a solution to implement a new loyalty program across their existing retail applications, Oracle Retail Customer Engagement and Xstore POS payment system.

Solution
SkillNet worked closely with the client to design a comprehensive loyalty program. The team outlined all the requirements needed to support the current POS implementation, business processes and the new desired functionality of the future loyalty program. The new loyalty program for POS incorporated and migrated the existing ‘loyalty program members’ who were offered a free and a premium level of membership.

Oracle Xstore POS Solution

The client wanted to manage its loyalty program from its current in store Xstore POS payment systems. SkillNet’s loyalty solution team designed a solution which allowed Xstore to extend its functionality. This allowed the store associates to sign up new members to its program through both the free membership level and purchase of the premium membership level at the POS terminal. Associates also have the ability to upgrade membership levels and allow customers to voluntarily opt-in to auto renew their annual membership through the in store Xstore POS payment systems.

Through the loyalty solution designed by SkillNet, the client has improved its ability to manage and operate its loyalty program in stores.

Oracle Retail Customer Engagement

The client’s existing Oracle Retail Customer Engagement application was also configured to fully support the launch of the loyalty program. To move lifetime members from the existing loyalty program over to the new loyalty program, SkillNet established and documented a migration process and then migrated the users over to the new loyalty program. SkillNet’s team also created a script to populate customer attributes into the new program and handled the import of their existing loyalty programs. To round out the configuration of their new loyalty program, SkillNet created an awards rules program and a demotion rule for the new loyalty within the Customer Engagement application. With these comprehensive changes, the client’s new loyalty program fully integrated and incorporated the members of its prior loyalty program. After successful testing and pilot program the new loyalty program was smoothly deployed in over 1,000 store locations nationwide.
